BETTER. Slow Cooker

From the beginning of BETTER – Sheri and Nancy have said you gotta make your own stuff. And if you’re a plant-powered eater and cook, you’ll likely find yourself with vegetable trimmings and root ends leftover and laying around at the end of the week. Here’s the hack: save these bits and bobs to make your own delish, homemade veg broth. Nancy’s favorite way to make it is with a slow cooker (hack numero two!). Throw all the trimmings you’ve saved in the pot, cover with filtered water, turn it on and let it go. Strain it the next day, and there’s your ready-to-use homemade broth.
